Con privilegio spedito dalla città di Toledo il 29 aprile 1698, re di Carlo II di Spagna, fece vendita dalla città di Monteverde, per il prezzo di ducati 8.500 a Michele, dottore di leggi. Detta città, posta nella provincia di Principato Ultra, era posseduta da Onorato II Grimaldi, principe di Monaco e marchese di Campagna, in Principato Citra, il quale perdette i detti feudi, donati all'avo Onorato I, non avendo osservato il patto convenuto nella donazione, di dover cioè i principi di Monaco esser fedeli al sovrano di Napoli. A Michele, morto in Monteverde il 5 maggio 1729, successe nei beni feudali il figliuolo Giovan Battista, con decreto di Preambolo della Gran Corte della Vicaria del 19 luglio dello stesso anno.
