Antica famiglia lombarda, con residenza in Milano, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Un Gerolamo, abitante in Busto Garofalo, testò nel 1699 ed ebbe come figli Pietro Francesco, vicario foraneo di Caravaggio ed arciprete di Vailate, fondatore di una cappelletta in Colombarone, e Giovanni Battista, padre di altro Gerolamo, che con diploma del 4 novembre 1782, ottenne il titolo di nobile con trasmissione mascolina e femminina, diploma interinato dal Senato il 1 febbraio 1783. Lo stemma suo venne poi delineato nel Codice Araldico, per decreto del 9 febbraio 1783, dal Tribunale Araldico di Lombardia. Il figlio di lui, Scipione, prese in moglie Barbara, del conte Francesco Pertusati, e da lui discendono gli attuali rappresentanti della casata. La famiglia levò per arme.
