Nel 1305 Buccio de Sanguigni era Conservatore di Roma. Alcuni autori hanno innestato in questa famiglia il card. Antonius Sanguinus che era francese e della nobile famiglia Sanguin de Mendon. I fasti capitolini ci hanno conservato i nomi dei seguenti Conservatori posteriori a Buccio: Nicolò (1410), Paolo (1441), Gaspare (1511), Bernardino (1522), Pietro Paolo (1531) e Gaspare (1675). A quest'ultimo si riferisce lo stemma scolpito sulla base di uno dei dioscuri che si trovano sul fronte della piazza del Campidoglio. Il Cavaliere Jacovacci riporta i seguenti nomi: 1311 Buccius Sanguineus Syndicus Camerae Urbis Romani Populi; 1401 Cola de Sanguuineis de regione Montium; 1402 Nicolaus de Sanguineis de regione Pontis; 1418 Rev. Dom. Ioannes de Sanguineis Abbas Sancti Pauli et olim Canonicus Basilicae Principis Apostolorum de Urbe; 1429 Nob. vir Sanguineus de Sanguineis, Guardianus SS.mi Salvatoris; 1463 Dom. Franciscus de Sanguineis; 1481 Strennus miles Dom. Franciscus de Sanguineis Legum Doctor sepultus
