Con Regio Decreto di Motu proprio 24 ottobre 1929 e successive Regie Lettere Patenti 20 gennaio 1930, fu concesso il titolo trasmissibile di Conte al Dottor Giovanni, nato il 29 giugno 1859. Entrato al servizio sanitario della Casa Reale il 1° marzo 18886, fu nominato, dodici anni dopo, Medico di Sua Maestà il Re: carica che egli tiene tuttavia, associata ad un'attività scientifica e patriottica insigne. E' decorato della medaglia commemorativa della guerra d'Africa, della medaglia commemorativa della guerra, della croce al merito di guerra, della croce d'oro per anzianità del servizio militare, della medaglia d'argento per il merito della Sanità pubblica, della medaglia d'argento per il terremoto della Calabria e Sicilia, della medaglia d'argento per il terremoto della Marsica.
