Se si riguarda l'origine della famiglia in Italia, tiene forte più di mille, e quattrocento anni addietro, e nel tempo dell'Imperator Honorio. Da Sansone Capitano, chiarissimo del medesimo Imperatore. Il cui figlio Adriano S. per il suo valore fù eletto Capitano delle genti d'arme di Milano. Per lo che si stabilì con la sua posterità nella medesima Città, d'onde si crede, che la Sansone di Cipri derivasse di questa Italia, e trattando di questa medesima famiglia S. Frà Paolo Morigia nell'historie di Milano nel libro quarto così dice. Volendo hor dir qualche cosa di casa S., bisogna che si dica ch'ella è antica, perche la loro casa vecchia posta nella Parrocchia di S. Giorgio il Palazzo, è antichissima, e le sue sepolture si veggono nella detta Chiesa, con tutti i testimonij d'antichità. In oltre io trovo, che l'anno 1388. fiorirono alquanti nobili Sansoni, frà li quali furono eletti del Consiglio
