Originaria di S. Angelo in Vado, si trasferì a Pesaro nel XV secolo. Un Pier-Antonio fu infeudato della contea della Metola da Francesco-Maria I della Rovere signore di Pesaro verso il 1532. Un pronipote di costui, Francesco-Maria, buon poeta, ebbe il titolo di marchese dalla Regina Cristina di Svezia che servì in qualità di cameriere maggiore, insieme col fratello Lodovico, il quale fu autore principale nella truce tragedia del Monaldeschi. Si estinse verso la fine del XVIII secolo, e l'eredità passò agli Antaldi di Urbino. Altro ramo. Antica e nobile famiglia originaria della Lombardia. Il commendator G.B. di Crollalanza riporta la blasonatura di questa famiglia nei volumi del suo Dizionario storico blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane.
