O cavaleiro Gioacchino, um nobre espanhol, nascido em Ceuta na África, brigadeiro das tropas, grande escudeiro e cavalheiro de câmara do duque de Modena Ercole III, estabeleceu a família em Modena. Desde 15 de outubro de 1763, ele obteve para si e seus descendentes a nobre cidadania de Modena. Em 7 de setembro de 1795, a comunidade de Reggio Emilia concedeu-lhe o título de patrício Reggio para si e para a descendência masculina. Seu filho, Cavalier Giuseppe, foi inscrito na renovada Ordem Conservadora e no Livro Dourado de Modena com um decreto dos Conservadores e do Podestà em 2 de julho de 1816. A família está registrada na Lista Oficial Nobre Italiana com os títulos de patrícia de Modena (m.), patrício de Reggio (m.), na pessoa de Francesco, Carlo, Giuseppe, nascido em 27 de setembro de 1871.
