Apellido aragonés. Procede de Jaca en la provincia de Huesca, hallándose muy extendido por toda la Península. Una rama del Reino de Navarra se estableció en Peralejos, partido judicial de Molina (Guadalajara), en el signlo XIV, donde fundó nueva casa. Oltra familia del apellido Sants floreció en Mallorca y Valencia, desde sus respecitvas conquistas. Su progenitor, según Mosén Jaime Febrer, fue Jaime S., ricohombre por naturaleza, que descendía de los condes de Ala en Sajonia. En Mallorca realizó famosas hazanás de las que el rey Don Jaime I hace memoria en sus comentarios. Los S. mallorquines enlazaron en Cataluña y Valencia con nobles familias, como las de Barutell, Cárcer, Borrás, Sala, Novell y Albaña. Jaime S. acompañó también al rey Don Jaime I de Aragón en la conquista de Valencia, siendo nombrado repartidor de las tierras ganadas a los moros en la conquista de Játiva, donde quedó ricamente heredado en
