Antica e patrizia famiglia oriunda da Biella con memorie dal sec. XIII. Capostipite è Obertino, che fu padre di Marco, consigliere di Biella; Antonio, pur esso consigliere, e Riccardo, canonico di Santo Stefano, i quali vivevano verso la metà del 1300. Il notaio Pietro, di Obertino, pronipote del capostipite Obertino, acquistò una quattordicesima parte del feudo di Castellengo il 20 agosto 1410, di cui fu investito con titolo signorile il 20 agosto 1410 e il 31 genn. 1411. Il 15 marzo 1615 la famiglia ottenne conferma dell'arma in persona di Giovani Antonio, riconfermata al figlio suo Giovani Giacomo, che fu controllore, ufficiale del soldo e gentiluomo dell'artiglieria in Chivasso, con PP. del 27 sett. 1626, 3 sett. 1635, 28 giugno 1649 e 15 febbr. 1652.
