Família antiga, cujo solar é a vila de Serávia nas montanhas da Biscaia. O apelido em Portugal, tomou a foram de S. corrupção de Serávia. Na comitiva da Rainha D. Leonor mulher do Rei D. Duarte veio Vicente Fernades Serávia, que dizem acompanhava uma sua irmã, dama da quel princesa. Vicente Fernandes casou com Leonor Vaz da Fonseca filha de Afonso Vaz da Fonseca Coutinho, alcaide-mor de Marialva e de Moreira, que ganhou aos castelhanos e do Sabugal e de sua mulher D. Mécia Lopes Pacheco. Ligado a tào importante e distinta família da província da Beira, Vicente Fernandes S. deixou larga geração, sobretudo na região de Trancoso, em cuja vila fez assento, a qual teve papel preponderante na governança da região. Timbre: em espardate sainte de sua cor, com a serra de prata.
