Este apellido es el mismo de Cerdá. La modalidad de "S." la encontramos aplicada a una línea catalana que residió y tuvo casa en la ciudad de Gerona. Pasaron a Mallorca. En la reja de la capilla de Nuestra Señora de Bell-Ull, de la catedral de Gerona, reja que data del siglo XV, figuran las siguientes armas atribuidas a S.: En campo de gules, un ciervo de oro pasante. Armas casi exactas a las usadas por algunas Cerdán aragoneses. Otros en Cataluña traían: De oro, con una corza o cierva de plata, pasante. En el jefe tres flores de lis de oro puestas en situación de faja. En un sello de Pedro S., que data del año 1469 y se conserva en el Archivo Capitular de Barcelona, figuran estas otras: En campo de azur, un perro de plata con collar de azur y puesto en salto. En Mallorca usaron: De azur, con un sol de oro. En la punta, dos ramas de palma de oro, unidas en su parte inferior y formando semicírculo.
