Antica famiglia oriunda dal castello di Cassio. Maestro Sabatino barbiere figlio di Giovanni di Ariento ottenne il 16 Febbraio 1441 per sè e suoi discendenti la cittadinanza bolognese, fu massaro delle arti per la società dei barbieri negli ultimi trimestri de 1456 e 1459, e gonfaloniere del popolo pel quartiere di porta Piera nel terzo quadrimestre del 1461. Figlio del precedente fu un Giovanni Sabadino, che nel XV secolo ebbe grido di esimio letterato e che lasciò molti scritti in prosa e in verso. Di questa fmaiglia non si hanno più notizie dal XVI secolo. Altro ramo. Di origine greca, servì con fede ed amore gli Estensi sia in Ferrara, sia in Modena, dove Dionigi Arienti seguì il Duca Cesare di cui era fattore generale, come risulta da patente 15 Ag. 1599. Un Giovanni Arienti fu compagno di Obizzo II d'Este alle tre incoronazioni seguite nel 1292 del Pontef. Nicolò
