Famiglia oriunda da Sondrio in Valtellina detta Sassi de Lavezzari, Sassi di Lavizzari o, più semplicemente, Lavezzari, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Nell'anno 1675 Gio. Andrea era cancelliere di valle e nel 1713 ricoprì la stessa carica suo figlio Gio. Antonio. Un altro Gio. Antonio, figlio del predetto, fu capitano. Fu confermata nobile con Sovrana Risoluzione del 28 gennaio 1817 a favore di Gaspare e del suo congiunto Antonio. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano col titolo di nobile (mf.), in persona di Ippolita, nata a Sondrio 14 maggio 1851, figlia di Andrea, di Gaspare e di Luigia Parravicini, del fu Pio, in Parabelli. Sorella: Amalia, nata a Sondrio I settembre 1852, in Bressan. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata
