Noble family in Veroli, since the tenth eighth century, passed in Campania, perhaps with that Francesco Paolo Savastano, who in 1774 graduated in "utroque jure" at the University of Naples, where he branched out in Caiazzo and Capua. The origin of this cognomination, to say the least of illustrious genealogists, should be sought in some modifications, of phonetics and dialectical transcription, of the proper name "Sebastiano", probably belonged to a, today unknown, progenitor. The exact genealogy of this illustrious family is still shrouded in darkness, although, however, we know that the Capua branch was the owner of extensive landed properties in Terra di Lavoro and that it is handed down the title of Marquis, probably, by succession to other family.
