Di questa famiglia si trova menzione in Forlì sino dal secolo XV. Fu ascritta alla nobiltà forlivese nel 1565 e poscia aggregata al patriziato, che spetta tuttora ai discendenti di Vincenzo, consigliere il 22 giugno 1748 e di Nicolò, di Vincenzo, consigliere il 23 agosto 1779. Con diploma del 27 febb. 1744, Carlo Emanuele re di Sardegna, per singolari benemerenze verso la sua casa, creò conti Vincenzo e Camillo Savorelli con trasmissibilità ai maschi primogeniti. I Savorelli godono pure il titolo di baroni delle Barette nell'ex regno di Napoli, e quello di nobili coscritti romani dall'anno 1804. Hanno inoltre i titoli di patrizio S. Marino, e di Foligno. Il ramo primogenito fu erede (1741) dell'estinta famiglia romana dei marchesi Muti Papazzurri. nei conti, domiciliati a Forlì si estinse la nobile famiglia Porati che era essa pure patrizia. Altro ramo. Altro ramo della omonima famiglia Forlivese che venne ascritto alla Nobiltà
