Famiglia decorata del titolo di barone, concesso dal re Gioacchino Murat il 2 giugno 1814 a Raffaele Aloisio, nato in Catanzaro il 26 novembre 1768, capo della Legione Provinciale di Calabria Ultra. Il titolo venne rinnovato con Regie Lettere Patenti 16 marzo 1899 (mpr.) ad Orazio, di Giovanni, di Raffaele. Autori che parlano di questa famiglia: V. Palizzolo Gravina Barone di Ramione, nella sua opera " Il Blasone in Sicilia ossia Raccolta Araldica", stampato in Palermo nel 1871-75, ha offerto non poche notizie interessanti di questa famiglia, e delle gloriose tradizioni di quest'isola. Insieme al Minutoli, Invges, Mugnos e piu d'un instancabile Marchese di Villabianca, l'opera ha raccolto documenti, pergamene e testimonianze trasmesse da' componenti della casata stessa che parlano de' loro trascorsi, di virtù e gesta della propria schiatta.
