The first memories of this branch of the family date back to Guglielmo who was mayor of Genoa in the mid-thirteenth century, and who had for his nephew Antonio who was invested with Mombarcelli on 19 May 1329 by the emperor Lodovico the Bavaro, and who having purchased from Emanuele Traversagni portions of Vinchio was invested by the same emperor with a diploma of the same date with the fiefs of Montaldo and Monbarone.
