La famiglia è originaria d'Imola e da oltre cinque secoli si è stabilita in Roma. I membri della famiglia servirono la Corte pontificia, occupandovi varie cariche assai ragguardevoli. Sono ricordati molti personaggi di questa casa come segretari apostolici, minutanti, ufficiali della Dataria, ed in documento del 1843 sono già detti nobili. La famiglia è annoverata fra le 60 coscritte e fregiata del titolo comitale. Nel secolo XVI ebbe due conservatori: Cola nel 1429 e Giuliano nel 1452. Un Pietro Paolo, canonico lateranense, fu ambasciatore al re di Francia; Giovanni Pietro, nel 1556, quando fu fatta la mostra generale dei romani radunati in campo presentò 6000 uomini, fra alabardieri e archibugieri. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco ufficiale in persona di Francesco Saverio, cav. d'On. e dev. del S.M.O. di Malta, sp. ad Antonia dei bar. de Jacquier de Rosée da cui: Carlo, Enrichetta, Alessandro e Maria, e delle sorelle Carolina ved.
