Nell'opera "Cronaca delle famiglie udinesi" di Nicolò Monticoli, Arnaldo Forni Editore, leggiamo: "In Toschana è uno castello ditto lo Scarparia, del quale la famiglia de Scarparia cogniome trasse, et cazati ad habitar qui venero et citadini fatti nel mille tricento et trenta poi così vivendo per fin nel 1470, de lor facultà una sola figliola herede rimanendoli: et in età pueril morendo, di soij beni li Montegniaci per affinità sucessero."
