Bernardo la Caprona, ouer la C., passò da Pisa in Sicilia ne' tempi del Rè Alfonzo con Rubberto Pisanello, inà portò egli contate ricchezze pecuniarie, che lo spronarono à comprar il contado di Modica nel 1445, e le Terre d'Alcamo, Caccamo, e Caltafimi nel 1446, dal Conte di Modica, che furono poi da' primi loro Signori da suo potere recuperati, e comprò molt'altri feudi a' quali successe suo figlio Giovanni, che proncreò à Gio.Bernardo, padre di Paolo, il quale fù Senator di Palermo nel 1528 con Simone Calvello Honofrio Parvua, Luca Chaggio, Antonio Geremia, ed Antonio di Bologna; ed il figlio Lodovico nel 1551 ne pervenne da costui Guido, che si casò con Cecilia Bologna, figlia di Federico, fù pure Baron della Roccella, e mastro Rationale del Regno.
