Ancienne famille noble de la Principauté de Liegnitz, probablement du nom du village du même nom dans le district de Goldberg. Peter V. Sch. est documenté pour la première fois en 1404 et 1414. Mentionné sous les ducs Rupert et Venceslas II de Liegnitz. Dans la Principauté de Liegnitz, il y a aussi Bonzel V. Sch. En 1447 avec la duchesse Elisabet de Lüben, ainsi qu'avec Hans (1506) avec le duc Friedrich II au début du XVIe siècle et avec George V. Sch. à la fin du même siècle. zu Koitz (Kr.
