Ancient and illustrious German family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. Tradition has it that it descends from a noble house of the Duchy of Liegnitz, known as Schir, Schier, Schirau, Schieraw or, precisely, Schirer.
