Antigua y muy noble familia siciliana, originaria de Agrigento y ramificada también en Noto, Patti y Palermo. El primer exponente de la familia de la que tenemos información histórica es un Giacomo, soldado, que poseía, en los albores del siglo XIV, la oficina de "portunalotto" de Girgenti (Agrigento). Además, la familia Sciacca, en todas las épocas, siempre se destacó, gracias a las figuras prominentes que dio a luz, en el servicio público, en las profesiones liberales y eclesiásticas y en el servicio militar. Entre estos, sin menospreciar los omitidos, quisiéramos mencionar: Antonio, que poseía el feudo de S. Giuliano en Noto, que perdió por rebelarse contra el Martini; Giuseppe, juez pretoriano de Palermo en los años 1682-83-84, del Consistorio en 1686, del Gran Tribunal en 1689; Grisostomo, jurado de Patti en el año 1798-99, que compró el feudo de Vigliatore; Baron Dr. Gaetano, "proconservatore" de Patti entre 1801 y 1811;
