Ancient and very noble Sicilian family, originally from Agrigento and branched also in Noto, Patti and Palermo. The first exponent of the family of which we have historical information is a Giacomo, soldier, who owned, at the dawn of the fourteenth century, the office of "portunalotto" of Girgenti (Agrigento). Besides, the Sciacca family, in all ages, always stood out, thanks to the prominent figures, which gave birth, in the public service, in the liberal and ecclesiastical professions and in the military service. Among these, without undervalue the omitted, we would like to mention: Antonio, who owned the fiefdom of S. Giuliano in Noto, which he lost because he rebelled against the Martini; Giuseppe, Praetorian judge of Palermo in the years 1682-83-84, of the Consistory in 1686, of the Grand Court in 1689; Grisostomo, sworn of Patti in the year 1798-99, who bought the fief of Vigliatore; Baron Dr. Gaetano, "proconservatore"
