A Verona sin da remoto tempo esistette una famiglia che non fu mai ascritta al nobile Consiglio della città. Una casa di questa famiglia venne da Zevio il 1440 con Domenico e Zenone. Altra fu originaria di Quinto nella Valpantena, dalla quale uscirono rinomati notai. Altra ebbe origine da Bergamo. Pietro, Antonio e Lorenzo, per benemerenze militari, acquisite nelle guerre contro i francesi, furono creati nobili, coi lori discendenti, da Francesco II, imperatore, con diploma 11 gennaio 1804 e con l'aggiunta del predicato De. Altro ramo. Capostipite di questa illustre famiglia fu Scolajo di Rosso, il cui figlio, di none pure Scolajo, fu console di Firenze. I figli e nipoti di Sinibaldo, fratello del precendente, tra il 1268 ed il 1303, furono condannati come ribelli dal Comune fiorentino per aver militato contro la patria.
