Proveniente da Pavia, trasferivasi nella seconda metà del XVI secolo nella città di Padova nella persona di Giovanni-Agostino, figlio di un Giovanni Antonio, che fu notajo, cavaliere e capitano. Da lui nacque Giovanni-Pompilio militare ed architetto insigne. Giovanni-Pompilio II, nipote ex filio del precedente, fu pubblico professore nello Studio di Padova nelle facoltà mediche dal 1681 al 1692, ed aggregato al Consiglio nobile di Padova nel 1670. Anche un Guglielmo-Antonio fu medico valente e professore dell'arte sua nell'Università di Padova nei primi anni del XVIII secolo. Suo figlio, Giovanni-Agostino, fu creato conte dalla Repubblica Veneta con decreto 12 Febbraio 1773. Con sovranra risoluzione 1 Febbraio 1821 fu confermata la nobiltà di questa famiglia, la quale si spense totalmente nel 1873 colla morte della contessa Orsola maritata nei Dondi dall'Orologio.
