Antica ed illustre famiglia, assai potente nella valle di Nura, dove era a capo della fazione Camiesca contro i Nicelli. Daniele e Giovanni furono giudici di collegio e famosi dottori nella città di Piacenza, gli statuti della quale furono dal secondo corretti. Altro ramo. Girolamo e Giovanni-Ambrogio, provenienti da Genova, si stabilirono in sicilia per attendere ad affari di regia corte. Il secondo, morto nel 1665 possedè la terra baronale di Montagnareale in val Demone. Altro ramo. Vanta questa nobile famiglia illustri personaggi, fra' quali notare un Bernardino che fu filosofo, teologo e poeta dal XVI secolo, e lasciò chiara fama di se come valentissimo medico, ed un Camillo Vescovo di Montepeloso nel 1597. L'arma del ramo di Piacenza è: D'oro, alla croce ancorata e fioronata di nero, accompagnata da due ceppi di verde, l'uno nel canton destro del capo e l'altro nel cantone sinistro dalla punta.
