L'arma é tolta da un antico sigillo di famiglia e da un marmo esistente nella chiesa di S. Ulderico in Parma. Famiglia di origine cremonese, che si trova già nel secolo XVII presso i Farnese in cariche pubbliche. Si ricorda fra gli altri un Francesco nominato nel 1634 cavaliere per Borgo S. Donnino, nel 1645 bargello di Parma. Per i servizi resi dalla famiglia allo Stato il duca Francesco Farnese con patente del 17 agosto 1724 creò il dott. Gerolamo, Giambattista, suo nipote e don Sebastiano nobili piacentini unitamente ai loro figli e discendenti riconoscendoli in pari tempo nobili e patrizi cremonesi. Giambattista testò a favore del figlio Girolamo con atto del 2 gennaio 1726 del not. Lorenzo Conti. Girolamo ebbe un figlio Giambattista, che sposò Maria Bignani, da cui nacque in Monticelli d'Ongina il 27 agosto 1766 Giuseppe, che prese in moglie Maria Teresa Caraffini. Il figlio di lui
