Familie Mandrolisai, deren Nachrichten aus dem frühen 17. Jahrhundert stammen. 1607 sammelte ein Mauro Mandrolisais Einkommen; Sein Sohn Pietro Francesco, Offizier der Barbagia dei Belvi, erhielt 1649 die erbliche Ritterschaft und wurde 1653 während des Lemos-Parlaments in die Militärstation aufgenommen. Die Familie nahm auch an allen anderen Parlamenten teil. Seine Enkelkinder bildeten in der zweiten Hälfte des Jahrhunderts drei verschiedene Zweige der Familie: Luzifer, der 1694 Adel hatte, bildete den Zweig von Gavoi, der im 19. Jahrhundert ausgestorben war. Martino, der 1700 die Anerkennung des Adels erhielt, bildete den Zweig von Mamoiada, der sich in den folgenden Jahrhunderten weit verbreitete; Pietro Antioco gründete die Samugheo-Niederlassung. Sein Sohn Antonio Ignazio und sein Neffe Giovanni Andrea waren Offiziere der Mandrolisai; Diese Sedda wiederum verbreiteten sich weit. Das Vorhandensein des Mottos in der dokumentierten Bibliographie der Familie bestätigt den angestammten Adel der Familie. Tatsächlich geht der Ursprung des Mottos auf das 14. Jahrhundert
