Mandrolisai family whose news dates back to the early 17th century. In 1607 a Mauro became collector of Mandrolisai's income; his son Pietro Francesco, officer of the Barbagia dei Belvi, obtained the hereditary knighthood in 1649 and was admitted to the military station in 1653 during the Lemos Parliament. The family also participated in all other parliaments. His grandchildren, in the second half of the century, formed three different branches of the family: Lucifer, who had nobility in 1694, formed the branch of Gavoi which became extinct during the nineteenth century. Martino who obtained the recognition of the nobility in 1700 formed the branch of Mamoiada which, in the following centuries, spread widely; Pietro Antioco formed the Samugheo branch. His son Antonio Ignazio and his nephew Giovanni Andrea were officers of the Mandrolisai; these Sedda, in turn, spread widely. The presence of the motto in the documented bibliography of the
