Famiglia del Mandrolisai le cui notizie risalgono agli inizi del secolo XVII. Nel 1607 un Mauro divenne collettore delle rendite del Mandrolisai; suo figlio Pietro Francesco, ufficiale della Barbagia dei Belvi, ottenne il cavalierato ereditario nel 1649 e fu ammeso allo stamento militare nel 1653 durante il Parlamento Lemos. La famiglia partecipò anche a tutti gli altri parlamenti. I suoi nipoti, nella seconda metà del secolo, formarono tre rami diversi della famiglia: Lucifero, che ebbe la nobiltà nel 1694, formò il ramo di Gavoi che si estinse nel corso del secolo XIX. Martino che ottenne il riconoscimento della nobiltà nel 1700 formò il ramo di Mamoiada che, nei secoli successivi, si diramò largamente; Pietro Antioco formò il ramo di Samugheo. Suo figlio Antonio Ignazio e suo nipote Giovanni Andrea furono ufficiali del Mandrolisai; questi Sedda, a loro volta, si diramarono largamente.
