Antica e nobile famiglia, originaria del Veneto. Il commendator G.B. di Crollalanza riporta la blasonatura di questa famiglia nei volumi del suo "Dizionario storico blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane". Un pubblico atto del 1363 nel quale si nominava il notaio Francesco Segade, del già Desiderato di Verona, dimostra essere questa casa veronese ab antico. Pronipoti del suddetto Francesco furono: Girolamo, membro del nob. Consiglio nel 1530; Jacopo dottore in legge e Cavaliere nel 1579; Francesco giureconsulto e giudice di Collegio nel 1626; Gio. Battista podestà di Peschiera e poi capitano del Lago nel 1656, e Virginio o Virgilio, cavaliere di Comune che fu l'ultimo di questa casa aggregato al nob. Consiglio nel 1640. Un'altra famiglia da Caravaggio si trasferì in Verona e ne ottenne la cittadinanza nel 1537. Altro ramo. Filippo fu governatore di Romagna nel 1573, creato poi Cardinale di S. R. Chiesa.
