L'antichissima famiglia trasse origine dalla terra di Montecarlo in Valdinievole, e sulla porta principale di quel castello ha scolpito il suo stemma gentilizio. Il cavaliere stefaniano (1645) Rubieri ebbe da Luisa Griffi la figlia Cassandra Caterina (dec. 1729), maritata al maestro di campo generale Alessandro di Lorenzo Passerini di Firenze e il figlio Simone che fu il primo ad aggiungere il cognome e l'arma della famiglia pisana dei Bizzarri estintasi nella sua, e da Vittoria dal Borgo ebbe Lucrezia (in Neri) e il cav. Rubieri, marito di Eleonora Rosselmini e padre di Simone, Giuseppe, Lucrezia, Maria Anna, Luisa, Baldassarre e Vittoria. Esso cavaliere priore Rubieri Francesco Maria, che fu dei priori in patria nel 1719-1732 e 1743, chiese e con decreto I luglio 1754 ottenne l'ascrizione della sua famiglia alla nobiltà pisana. Il suo primogenito, cav. priore Simone (nato nel 1739), ebbe dalla marchesa Angiola
