Famiglia cagliaritana di origine valenzana le cui notizie risalgono al secolo XVI. Alcuni dei Selles furono consiglieri del Castello; nel 1549 un Giovanni divenne ricevitore del riservato; nel 1549 un Giovanni divenne ricevitore del riservato; nel 1566 suo figlio Pietro, vicario reale di Cagliari, ottenne il cavalierato ereditario. A partire da 1552 la famiglia fu coinvolta nelle fazioni dell'aristocrazia cagliaritana e si schierò contro gli Aymerich e i Torrellas. Nel 1633 un Giovanni ottenne la nobiltà; lo stesso fu ammesso allo stamento militare nel 1643 durante il Parlamento Avellano. Del ramo originario di questa antica famiglia non si avranno più notizie pochi decenni dopo.
