Antichissima famiglia, originaria del villaggio omonimo, che ebbe riconosciuta la cittadinanza e la nobiltà in Treviso. Della famiglia non si hanno più notizie dal 1300. Altro ramo. Famiglia originaria di Monte Codruzzo, presso Cesena. Di questa famiglia non si hanno più notizie dal 1711. Altro ramo. Famiglia veneziana, anteriore al XIV secolo, che diede i natali a quel Giannantonio, professore di architettura in Venezia ed intimo amico del Canova. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia, inoltre, ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli o bandiere dei cavalieri, esposti alle finestre delle locande in cui questi alloggiavano, in occasione dei tornei, e durante i tornei stessi.
