Il casato che da Tortona sparse i suoi rami in molte altre contrade e tra le più vicine Alessandria, Asti, Pavia, Voghera, Piacenza, Cremona, Milano, Alba, Genova affermandosi ovunque onorevolmente per cariche dignità e censo, è noto sin dall'XI secolo.
