Antiga e mui nobre família originária da Toscana, onde se chamava Serragli e também Serraglis, de Pogna ou della Cella, de Marcialla e também Serraglio. Com um Serraglio, de Paolo, de Girolamo, inscrito no Cittadinario florentino para o distrito de S. Spirito, gonfalone Drago, em 1642 com os irmãos Girolamo e Camillo e falecido em 13 de setembro de 1684, este ramo da família foi extinto; vários outros membros da família se espalharam com honra na Toscana, mas também em várias regiões da Itália. Um dos vários ramos da família, originalmente de Palaia, na zona rural de Pisa, e de lá transferido para Florença, ao qual um Giovanni di Vanozzo, prior de Florença em 1391, bisneto do já mencionado ser Belcaro da Pogna é atribuído como progenitor.
