A detta di Scipione Ammirato deriverebbero da un ser Belcaro, di Benvenuto, o Bonaiuto "da Pogna", che fu priore in Firenze nel 1325, i cui discendenti si dissero "da Pogna" e poi anche "della Cella" è "da Marcialla". La famiglia ebbe 21 priori di libertà, dal 1325 al 1517, e 6 gonfalonieri di giustizia in Firenze dal 1346 al 1431, e parecchi de' suoi rappresentanti furono ricevuti per giustizia nel S.M. Ordine di Malta. Ad essa si deve la costruire del grandioso convento di S. Firenze, oggi sede dei Tribunali fiorentini. Un Filippo, abate olivetano, venne creato da papa Paolo III vescovo di Alife nel 1548. Un Paolo, di Niccolò "de Serraglis, civis et patritus fiorentinus" è ricordato, sotto la data del 9 giugno 1568, come "Capitaneus Fivizani" negli atti del notaio Cesare Tanucci. Giuliano, di Francesco, fu senatore nel 1608. Con Serraglio, di Paolo, di Girolamo, inscritto nel Cittadinario
