Famille de noblesse très ancienne, reconnue par DM le 20 avril 1902, qui se vante d'un juriste du Collège de Milan du XVIe siècle, en la personne de Gabriele, fils de Francesco Sessa. La noblesse est solidement attestée par des actes notariés, dans lesquels non seulement les qualifications de dominus, nobilis, spectabilis, magnificus dominus et don sont attribuées selon les époques, mais parle aussi explicitement des "nobiles parentelae de Sessa". Il y a donc un acte du 20 fév. 1430 relative à un compromis des contestations, autour de la répartition du sérieux des appréciations, d'où la noblesse de la famille ressort d'une manière particulière. Les compro-expéditeurs sont, d'une part, Taddeo del qm. Giovannolo, Donato du qm. Ruggiero, Besto del qm. Gabardo, habitants de Daverio, et Antonio et Giovannolo du qm. Onofrio, habitants de Marchirolo, "omnes nobiles parentelae de Sessa", et par, les hommes des municipalités de l'équipe Travaglia, les municipalités
