Antica famiglia ternana che vediamo figurare tra le patrizie nell'Elenco compilato nel 1577 per ordine di mons. Grimaldi, commissario e delegato straordinario apostolico per il ristabilimento della pace tra i due nobili ceti dei Cives e dei Banderari, che contendevansi il primato nel reggimento ternano. Ha dato alla patria diversi priori e gonfalonieri e anche alcuni podestà di Miranda e di Papigno, feudi della città. Dell'ultimo secolo sono da ricordarsi: Francesco, che, per aver negato giuramento di fedeltà all'imperatore Napoleone I, venne nel 1810 deportato a Picenza e poscia a Bologna; Felice, che, in qualità di guardia di onore dell'imperatore fece parte nel 1813 del seguito sovrano in Olanda; Pietro, tra i primi a ricoprire la carica di sindaco di Terni, dopo la proclamazione dell'unità d'Italia.
