Antiga e ilustre família, nobre da Romagna, de clara e ancestral virtude, espalhada ao longo dos séculos em várias regiões da Itália e do mundo. Origina-se da cidade de Forlì e de fato é amplamente mencionada na muito importante obra "Suplemento Histórico da antiga cidade de Forlì. Na qual se descreve a Província de Romagna. Registrando por uma série de vezes todos aqueles Povos, Imperadores e Reis, que o dominou (...) "do nobre escritor e historiador Sigismondo Marchesi (Forlì, 1625 - Forlì, 1695). Nesta obra são mencionados um Girolamo e um Pietro, ambos figuras locais proeminentes, ocupados nos mais altos escritórios da cidade. A partir de uma análise cromática e simbólica da arma mais antiga da família, podemos obter algumas informações importantes sobre as virtudes associadas a esta linhagem.
