Antigua y muy noble familia de las Marcas, con importantes asentamientos también en Toscana, de clara y ancestral virtud, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia, Europa y el mundo. La génesis de este apellido se remonta a la Edad Media y se extendió por la veneración de San Severo, obispo de Rávena en el siglo IV, y San Severino, obispo ermitaño del siglo V, apóstol de Nòrico, enterrado en Nápoles.
