Alte und sehr edle venezianische Familie mit klarer und angestammter Tugend, die sich im Laufe der Jahrhunderte in verschiedenen Regionen Italiens verbreitet hat. Sie hatte ihren Hauptwohnsitz in Verona und in Vicenza, aber einige ihrer Vertreter besaßen auch Besitzungen in Deutschland, genauer gesagt in Bayern. Grundbesitzer ja die Severos aber auch brillant in der Ausübung der Anwaltsberufe. Tatsächlich absolvierten viele von ihnen beide Rechtswissenschaften, während andere sich der Notariatsarbeit widmeten. Eine andere Adelslinie der Severos blühte edel in Rieti auf, hatte aber auch Residenzen in Pettorano und Vallosensa. Sie zog seit 1490 in das Königreich Neapel und ließ sich 1738 dauerhaft in Giovinazzo nieder. In dieser Familie starb die Adelsfamilie Vergine von Giovinazzo aus. Gaetano Paint, der letzte seines Namens, adoptierte Francesco mit der Verpflichtung, diesen Nachnamen hinzuzufügen und das Wappen zu hinterlassen. 1750 zum Adel der Stadt Giovinazzo zusammengefasst, wurde sie mit DM 30. Inquartato; nel 1° e 4° d'oro, all'aquila di nero linguata di rosso posata su delle pile di rotelle (o botti cerchiate), esse stesse posate su un terreno di verde; nel 2° e 3° troncato in scaglione di nero e di rosso alle tre teste d'uomo barbute e recise, le due del capo affrontate; allo scaglione d'argento attraversante sulla troncatura.

Blasone della famiglia Severo in Veneto ricostruito da un disegno presente nell'opera: "Veronensia Vicentina Insignia eorum nobilium qui ys m locis celebres habentur. Ordines ergo duo, singule ordine alfabeti consesti" custodita presso la Biblioteca Reali di Baviera.
