Ancienne et très noble famille vénitienne, de vertu claire et ancestrale, qui s'est répandue au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie. Elle avait sa résidence principale à Vérone et à Vicence mais certains de ses représentants possédaient également des possessions en Allemagne et, plus précisément, en Bavière. Propriétaires terriens oui les Severos mais aussi brillants dans l'exercice des professions juridiques. En fait, beaucoup d'entre eux ont obtenu leur diplôme dans les deux lois tandis que d'autres se sont consacrés au travail notarial. Une autre lignée noble des Severos s'épanouit noblement à Rieti, mais possédait également des résidences à Pettorano et Vallosensa. Installée depuis 1490 dans le royaume de Naples, elle s'installe définitivement à Giovinazzo en 1738. Dans cette famille s'éteint la noble famille Vergine de Giovinazzo. Gaetano Paint, le dernier du nom, a adopté Francesco avec l'obligation d'ajouter ce nom de famille et de laisser les armoiries. Agrégé en

Inquartato; nel 1° e 4° d'oro, all'aquila di nero linguata di rosso posata su delle pile di rotelle (o botti cerchiate), esse stesse posate su un terreno di verde; nel 2° e 3° troncato in scaglione di nero e di rosso alle tre teste d'uomo barbute e recise, le due del capo affrontate; allo scaglione d'argento attraversante sulla troncatura.

Blasone della famiglia Severo in Veneto ricostruito da un disegno presente nell'opera: "Veronensia Vicentina Insignia eorum nobilium qui ys m locis celebres habentur. Ordines ergo duo, singule ordine alfabeti consesti" custodita presso la Biblioteca Reali di Baviera.
