Ancient and illustrious Italian family, with major settlements in Veneto, of clear and ancestral virtue, spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy and the world. According to what is handed down to us, it arrived in Veneto from Austria, during the eighteenth century, settling in the Veronese area. In the ancient homeland she enjoyed noble honors and was known as Sigmar or Siegmar; surname then, through dialect phonetic phenomena, changed over time in Italy, up to today's Sgulmaro. Speaking in the original nucleus, however, it had a cradle in Württemberg (Germany), from which it then moved to Austria.
