Trae le sue origini questa famiglia dalla Moriana, e ad essa appartenne Giacomo, di Guglielmo e Baldassaria Bonnivard, che fu procuratore fiscale della Moriana, e ottenne patenti di nobiltà il 24 febbraio 1607. Avendo sposato Anna Maria, di Francesco Broucin de S.T Michel, erede dei du Col, lo zio Giacomo du Col, avvocato presso il Senato di Savoia, lasciò erede (1603) il nipote Claudio, nato da questo matrimonio, coll'obbligo di assumere casato ed arma du Col. Claudio, essendo morto senza lasciare discendenza, lasciò erede il fratello Giacomo con testamento del 23 maggio 1629. Giacomo che, come il padre, era procuratore fiscale in Moriana, assunse il casato Sibuè Du Col, che trasmise ai discendenti. Antonio (n. Saint Jean de Maurienne, 20 gennaio 1823, dec. 1885), di Giorgio e di Antonietta, del senatore barone Pietro Antonio d'Albrieux, che fu colonnello, optò il fratello di costui, il tenente colonnello
