Ancienne et très noble famille du Royaume des Deux-Siciles, de vertu claire et ancestrale, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie et du monde. Selon le moment où il nous est transmis, il a une agnation commune, partageant également l'arme, avec la famille noble sicilienne Lo Re Sigillo, à son tour née de l'union entre les Lo Re, nobles de Messine depuis le XVe siècle, et le Sigillo, dont très peu d'informations ont été reçues. Ce qui est certain, c'est que le roi Sigillo était reconnu comme noble de Messine au XVIIIe siècle et qu'en fait, à cette époque, il était attribué à la noblesse de cette ville en la personne d'un Antonino, de feu Felice et d'un Luigi, de feu Antonino.
