Antiga e ilustre família veneziana, de virtude clara e ancestral, que se espalhou ao longo dos séculos por várias regiões da Itália e da Europa. Diz a tradição que se originou de um cavaleiro provençal da nobre família Simeão, que veio para a Itália antes do século XV e ali se estabeleceu com seus descendentes. Não sabemos se se trata de Philippo Simioni, um soldado que passou pela Itália no século XIV e é lembrado nos Arquivos da cidade de Turim em 1394. De qualquer forma, uma família Simioni está presente em Bassano pelo menos desde o final do século XVI. Recordemos, por exemplo, Dom Bartolomeo de Simioni, eleito pároco da Rosa em 28 de dezembro de 1587.
