Antica ed assai nobile casata italiana, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e d'Europa. I più cospicui insediamenti del casato, con relative registrazioni dei blasoni, si trovano in Roma ed in Bologna. La famiglia è stata anche nobile, nel secolo decimonono, nella Repubblica di San Marino, a cui ha dato diversi Capitani Reggenti nobili. Si ha inoltre notizia di insediamenti dei Simoncini in territorio ligure, veneto, sardo e siciliano. Di rilevanza araldica anche il ramo familiare presente in Rovereto almeno sin dal XVII secolo, quando fioriva la nobildonna Elena Gertrude Simoncini, nella cui casa erano solite riunirsi le donne del territorio. A tal ramo appartenne anche Veneria Simoncini, fida compagna delle Serve di Dio e co-fondatrice dell'oratorio di Trento, fiorente nel 1636. La chiara nobiltà di questa illustre stirpe è ulteriormente confermata dalla presenza dei suoi blasoni in prestigiose opere araldiche, quali:

D'azzurro, ad un uccello d'argento fermo su un ancora d'abbordaggio del medesimo posta in fascia.

Blasone della famiglia Simoncini ricostruito da un disegno conservato presso la Biblioteca Comunale dell'Archiginnasio di Bologna nell'opera "Il Blasone bolognese, cioè Arme gentilizie di famiglie bolognesi, nobili, cittadinesche e aggregate" di Floriano Canetoli realizzata tra il 1791 e il 1795.
