Originaria di Ancona, fu trapiantata in Sicilia nel tempo di Re Martino da Antonio ed Alberto camerieri del real palazzo. Girolamo, figlio del suddetto Antonio, sposò in Capua nel 1443 una figlia di Re Alfonso, dalla quale ebbe un figlio nomato Antonio che militò con molto onore in favore del Re Cattolico nelle guerre di Spagna e d'Italia, e fermò sua dimora in Palermo dove morì nel 1527. Un Rutilio fu maestro razionale del R. Patrimonio nel 1591, conservatore del regno nel 1598, presid. del r. tribunale della sacra regia coscienza nel 1607 e presid. del detto r. patrimonio nel 1609; un altro Antonio avvocato fiscale della regia gran Corte, e reggente il supremo Consiglio d'Italia nel 1647; un altro Rutilio princ. di Montevago nel 1641, march. di S. Elisabetta, e cav. di Alcantara. Estinta nel XVII secolo nella persona di un Saverio, dal quale ereditò la sorella Girolama maritata
